Nectar Collectors

Convenient and powerful nectar collectors for concentrate enthusiasts.

Nectar Collector Buying Guide

Nectar collectors (dab straws) offer a unique approach to concentrate consumption with unmatched convenience and efficiency. This guide helps you understand the key features and select the right nectar collector for your needs.

How Nectar Collectors Work

Unlike traditional rigs where you bring concentrate to a heated surface, nectar collectors bring the heat to your concentrate:

  • Heat the titanium or quartz tip with a torch
  • Touch heated tip directly to concentrate in container
  • Inhale through mouthpiece as vapor travels through body
  • Control dosage by how long tip contacts concentrate

This direct approach offers precise portion control and eliminates waste from loading a banger.

Tip Materials: Titanium vs. Quartz

nectar collectors:

  • Virtually indestructible—won't break if dropped
  • Heats faster and retains heat longer
  • Slightly metallic flavor (minimal with quality titanium)
  • Requires less frequent torching during sessions
  • Best for beginners and heavy users

quartz tip nectar collectors:

  • Superior flavor—completely neutral taste
  • Cleaner hits with full terpene expression
  • Visual indicator when it's at temperature (glow)
  • More fragile—handle with care
  • Cools slightly faster than titanium
  • Preferred by flavor enthusiasts

Body Styles & Features

Straight Design: Simple tube from tip to mouthpiece. Easy to clean and portable. Minimal water filtration.

Percolated/Water-Cooled: Internal water chamber with percolator. Cooler, smoother hits. Requires water maintenance.

Reclaim Catchers: Built-in chamber collects reclaim for later use. Reduces waste and keeps piece cleaner longer.

Freezable/Glycerin: Chambers filled with freezable liquid. Coldest hits possible without dilution. Must freeze before use.

Size & Portability

Mini Collectors (4-6 inches): Maximum portability. Perfect for travel. Limited cooling but highly convenient.

Standard Collectors (6-8 inches): Balanced design. Adequate cooling with good portability. Most versatile option.

Large Collectors (8+ inches): Enhanced cooling and stability. Better for home use. May include additional percolation.

Using & Maintaining Nectar Collectors

Temperature Control: Heat tip to dull red glow, then let cool for 3-5 seconds. Too hot wastes concentrate and damages flavor. Too cool doesn't vaporize efficiently.

Concentrate Container: Use silicone or glass dishes. Avoid contact with plastics when tip is hot.

Cleaning: Remove tip and soak in isopropyl alcohol. Clean body regularly to prevent reclaim buildup. Easier to clean than traditional rigs.

Safety: Never inhale while heating tip. Use heat-resistant mat under your work area. Store tip separately from body when hot.
